First EMERALD General Workshop in Belgrade, Serbia

3-day workshop “WIPL-D 3D EM full wave computational tool for modelling of medical microwave imaging scenarios” was held at the School of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, Serbia, from 20th to 22nd May, 2019.

The workshop for 13 early stage researchers was organized by WIPL-D company (webpage link) within MSCA-ITN EMERALD project, funded by European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovative Programme (GA No: 764479).

The workshop was delivered by Prof. Branko Kolundzija (EMERALD Supervisor) and WIPL-D training instructors: Branko Mrdakovic, Jasmin Music, Mladjen Stevanetic and Branislav Ninkovic.

The content of the training:

  •  Introduction to WIPL-D 3D EM simulation software
  •  Theoretical EM background
  •  Modelling/Simulation of canonical antennas
  •  Creation/Simulation of mixed (real life + canonical) phantoms
  •  Creation/Simulation of antenna + phantom scenarios using libraries of antennas and STL based phantoms
  •  Import/Refinement of voxel models
  •  Real-life microwave imaging scenarios in WIPL-D software
