Aleksandar Janjic is an Early Stage Researcher at Mitos Medical Technologies A.S., and a Ph.D. student at the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, at Istanbul Technical University (ITU).
He received his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering and M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, both from the University of Belgrade, in 2015 and 2017, respectively. He received a certificate of achievement from the University of Belgrade for the excellent results, award for the most prominent students of the Belgrade University. His master thesis was in the area of signal processing, with the focus on the fractal analysis of biological signals with the purpose of disease early stage detection.

From 2014 until 2017 he was an active student/lab research assistant, working on the development of programing protocols for medical image analysis, with the purpose of cancer early stage detection. In 2018 he was a part of Faculty of Engineering Science, KU Leuven, as a part of his research specialization, working on the development of the fully automated segmentation protocol for the segmentation of Achilles tendon-to-bone interface and knee cartilage sub-architecture based on micro-CT images.

Aleksandar is currently working on WP5-task11 ‘EM device for chemotherapy monitoring’ of the EMERALD project. His main research interests are in the field of Microwave Tomography for the purpose of early cancer diagnosis, disease progression as well as treatment response monitoring
