Task 11 - EM device for chemotherapy monitoring

This Task is devoted to the design and the realization of a prototypal device for periodical monitoring of breast cancer patients under chemotherapy treatment. The device will rely on the novel differential imaging algorithms in Task 3.3 (ESR8). The design and realization of the microwave measurements and calibration techniques will be done in collaboration with ESR4 (Task 2.2). ITU will host the PhD training of ESR11. Clinical partner CHTMAD will be a major player in this task to set the device requirements.   

Objectives:

  • Realization of a microwave imaging system for periodical monitoring of breast cancer patients who are under chemotherapy treatment.
  • Development of novel differential imaging algorithms in collaboration with ESR8 and CNR-IREA.
  • Development of microwave measurement and calibration techniques for medical imaging in collaboration with ESR4 and KEYSIGHT

Expected Results:

  • Proof-of concept demonstration of chemotherapy monitoring.
  • Increased effectiveness of chemotherapy treatment
