Eleonora Razzicchia
Eleonora Razzicchia is a PhD student at the Department of Informatics, King’s College London, UK. She received her BSc and MSc degree in Medical Engineering from University of Rome Tor Vergata (Rome, Italy) in 2014 and 2017, respectively. After her graduation, she worked as a software developer in a multinational company (“Atos” - Rome, Italy). She joined the Regenerative Pharmacology group at National Heart & Lung Institute (Faculty of Medicine, Imperial College – London, UK) in March 2017 to work on her final dissertation. This research project was focused on the role of blast injuries in heterotopic ossification. In 2016, during her Erasmus Plus (Escola Superior de Biotecnologia da Universidade Catòlica - Porto, Portugal), she had the opportunity to work on synthesizing hydrogels and carrying out more detailed studies in tissue engineering and microfluidics. The main research topic of her PhD is related to EMERALD’s WP2-Task3 and involves the design, realization and characterization of metamaterial surfaces that can improve the performance of the EM medical imaging systems.
