Sapienza

Sapienza University of Rome, founded in 1303, is one of the oldest universities in the world and the largest university in EU. It ranks as first amongst Italian universities (ARWU - Academic Ranking of World Universities, U.S. News).  Sapienza endorses the principles set out in the European Charter for Researchers and in the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The project will be run by researchers from the Dept. of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications (DIET), where basic and applied multidisciplinary research is performed in the ICT area, with particular reference to Electronics, Electromagnetics, Communications, Bioengineering, Electrical/Electronic Measurements. Medical applications of ICT technology are investigated looking both at diagnostic tools and therapeutic solutions.

A library, 16 labs devoted to the different fields in the ICT area (Electronics, Electromagnetics, Communications, Bioengineering, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Electrotechnics) and equipped with specialized instrumentation, and a mechanical lab are part of the DIET facilities.
